A wide variety of tool and
machine systems are available to strap cartons, eventual choice often
being determined by through put and/or cost. The Series
5000 Combination Strapping Tool offers a fast solution.
Strap Pokas can also be offered for this type of
application. The simplest system uses a steel or plastic buckle threaded
onto the plastic strap and tightened by hand, or with a tensioner where
higher strap tensions are required. Slik Tensioners
and Sealers can also be used and for higher throughputs the
Slik Combination Tool offers a faster solution.
For production line throughputs Semi-Automatic
Strapping Machines are commonly used. These low cost units
automatically dispense the correct length of strap, tension and seal it
with a heat weld, with an average cycle time of 2-2.5 seconds. Faster
still are Automatic/Automated machines with cycle times of approximately
