Ingot and Billet Plastic Strapping Machine
Ingot Cooling equipment receives ingots, from the casting machine and cools them to approx. 50 ºC essential to reduce the ingot temperature sufficiently to allow stacks to be strapped immediately after completion and essential if ingots are to be hand stacked to avoid the risk of injury whilst stacking the ingots manually or to 90 C degrees if stacked robotically. Polyester strapping is used and the number of straps applied varies from two - four straps 19mm or 25mm wide depending on the size of pack.
Polyester strapping is made from polyester and less than 3% by weight of a polyolefn additive. It exhibits improved resistance to longitudinal splitting when the strapping is placed under tension in packaging reinforcement applications. The polyolefin improves the longitudinal split resistance of the strapping without facilitating unwanted longitudinal stretch of the polyester strapping when under tension.
Model PSVR88 Automated Strapping Machine is a popular choice for this application and all metal products, applying 19mm x 1.2mm polyester strapping quickly and efficiently, to produce a pack that is much improved when compared with packs secured with steel strapping.
