Poultry Processor Significantly Reduces Cost of Plastic Strapping Machine Ownership
A major poultry processor processes over 200,000 birds/day on two production shifts. Approx 12,000 boxes weighing about 14 kgs had two cross straps applied. Reliability had become an increasing issue with the four strapping machines then used with the consequent escalation in downtime, repair and service costs.
The RQ7000M boasts the advanced high-speed sealing head of the RQ7000, durability of the AQ-7M for moisture laden environments, and most of features of the RQ-8 such as strap self-loading, strap re-feed and loop ejection.
Successful trials of Strapack AQ-7M led to the purchase of four of these wash-down tolerant, fully automatic side seal automated strapping machines After a full year of operation and nearly three million strapping cycles on each machine, an impressive return on investment has emerged:
- 80% reduction in annual spare parts cost
- Improved machine reliability and fewer coil changes result in massively reduced overtime and related labor costs.
The RQ7000M is capable of up to 50 straps per minute (1.2 seconds per strap) which is much faster than the previous model (AQ-7M). This machine provides the speed and dependability to the moisture-laden environments of seafood, poultry, meat, and other food processing industries.
Built To Last
Permanently lubricated mechanisms, side-seal design and the body parts made of stainless steel and other water proof parts make the RQ7000M ideal machine for harsh environments. The bottom of the cabinet is reinforced to provide extra protection where moisture exposure is greatest. The cabinet is fully enclosed to protect the components from saltwater runoff, oil and dust.
Automatic Strap Loading
No more complicated threading is needed. The selfloading system makes strap threading almost completely
automatic. - It's just a touch of lever.
The RQ7000M is ready to operate in less than 20 seconds. Designed to ensure a high seal joint.
Adjustable Table Height
The roller table height is adjustable to three positions; 624mm, 642mm, 664mm (24-1/2", 25-1/4", 26") and it can be removed to fit the RQ7000M into existing conveyor system.
Quote from Production Director Janito Flossi. There was something inherently re-assuring about these machines that instilled total confidence from the day they were installed and that instinctive feeling has not been mis-placed. The machines were delivered - unpacked - plugged in - and worked immediately.
Despite being offered other machines with newly developed sealing processes - with we might add rather expensive servicing costs - we judged that the successful long term worldwide experience behind the RQ7000M out weighed any marginal development in the method of joining two straps.
